Faith in harness

FFK Girls start to "WORK"!

At the Michigan Classic in March both Faith and Grace were given the opportunity to try out weight pull thanks to the All American Bulldog Club.  Gracie took to it right away but Faith needed a little more encouraging.  On the other hand, we were hooked from the first pull!  We ordered our custom harnesses from Missy at Alaskian Dream.  They arrived on Monday, April 28th and we were eager to begin the hard work of training.  Gracie was smitten from the minute she saw the harnesses and actually tried to put it on herself.  Faith, whom we thought would be terrified, seems to have gotton over the initial fear of the spreader bar on her hocks, and the  "Oh my goodness, what's behind me?!" is over.  Both Faith and Grace have done some terrific work in the yard with drag weight and we are really looking forward to upcoming pulls.  We fully expect Gracie to do well and Faith may just surprise us all!!

Spring Fling

Spring has finally Sprung!

Dogs everywhere are enjoying the sunshine and warmth AND so are the bugs!!

FFK would like to remind all dog lovers that this is the time to be diligent with the health of your best friends.  Please see your vet this spring and make sure you are up to date on all preventive medications.  Last spring here in Michigan the ticks were out in full force.  Just one little tick or one tiny mosquito can make your dog sick or even cost you the life of your faithful companion.  Please make sure all of your animals are protected.

The long cold winter has given way to sunny days, So, see your vet, get your dogs medicated, THEN go out and play fetch!!

FFK's Faithful of Martin

UKC CH FFK'S FAITHFUL OF MARTIN

Our girl Faith has won her first UKC title, Conformation Champion!  We are so proud of her.  At the Michigan Toy Fox Terriers show in Whitmore Lake on April 12th and 13th, Faith took Best of Breed in three consecutive shows!  Faith has gained much more confidence in the ring and Patrick did an excellant job of bringing out her best.  We are pleased with her growth, she has really filled out, and she is becoming a great example of what 100% Johnson blood can be.

Thanks, once again and always, to Julie and Colby Martin for producing such a great girl!

Show Updates

Every year at the UKC they have a Top Ten competition.  Top Ten points are awarded at every UKC event throughout the year throughout the country.  When a dog wins Best of Breed it receives one point for every dog entered in that breed's competition for that show.

The results are in and Gracie has finished #2 with 43 points!! This is such an honor for any dog and especially for us to have 2007 as our first year showing in the UKC!  We knew that Grace was special and we are so happy to have her recognized by the judges  she has shown under!

There will be a Top Ten invitional show at the 2008 UKC Premiere and we are so excited to show Grace in the ring with nine other exceptional American Bulldogs.

FFK would also like to congratulate Dwayne and Julie Pengilley of P.S.I. for blowing the competition away with their #1 ranked winniest dog, Gr Ch P.S.I.'s Red Machine with a staggering 77 points. With this display of commitement to their dogs and the show ring we are eager to meet them at Premiere!

We at FFK are also excited about Hans Roper's dog CH UWP Francis Bigboy Roper Pab. "Frank" finished at #8 with 26 points.

FFK's New Dogs! Print E-mail
Show Updates

2007 has been a GREAT year for us here at Fortis et Fidus Kennels!

Our dogs Gracie and Tazz have continued to wow us as they grow into awesome mature bulldogs.  Both have earned their Champion title in the UKC and are soooo close to their Grand Champion titles.

Just as exciting for us is the addition of three new dogs here at FFK!!

Patrick and Carrie found their perfect little sweetheart at County Line Kennels owned by Colby and Julie Martin.  They were a big help in picking out our girl and we couldn't be more pleased.  Big THANKS to Colby and Julie!!  FFK's Faithful of Martin is out of Johnson's Rebel Rousier 500 X Martin's JDJ Sugar Doll Tootie.  Born March 6, 2007 Faith is growing quickly and training for the 2008 UKC shows.

Dwayne and his daughter, Courtney took a trip to Jackson, TN to pick up a new stud pup from Dixie Luckman of Cedar Creek Kennels.  It was a wonderful experience for them.  They enjoyed the time they spent with Dixie's dogs and were excited to meet Dixie and talk for hours about American Bulldogs.  Dixie was an exceptional hostess with southern hospitality and a wealth of knowledge of dogs.  In fact, Dwayne and Courtney were so pleased with the litter of pups that they returned to Michigan with two dogs instead of one!!  FFK welcomes Rascal and Izzy!   FFK'S Rascal of CCK  and FFK'S Isabella of CCK are both out of Amok's Elvis of CCK X Cedar Creek's Selma.  Rascal is proving to be everything his name implies!  He is a BIG BOY and seems to grow everyday!  An even disposition and extreme drive to please are going to prove very exciting to see in the weight pulls.  His sister, Isabel, is definately the girl.  Softer features and a quiet character make her very lovable.  Still an American Bulldog, she holds her own and runs with the pack.

We at FFK are excited to see our pack grow and eager to show what our dogs can do!!
